At the origin , guanches or canary islands people were tall, well structured, blue eyes, betwen 1.75-1.82 meters, and Fuerteventura was the island with the tallest men in canaries area.

The Guanche extinguised languaje was similar to that of north Africa Berebers.

Actually Canary Islands people, have many links with south-america people because emigration, specially with Venezuela.

Today, canary islands culture and people are fully integrated with europeans and converted the islands in one of the preferred destinations by north europeans for holiday and relax.

Spanish police info when flying to Canary Islands

Since first moment your flight to Canary Islands is landing in the Canaries , you must know all about security and Spanish Police core groups who can help you when in problems.

There are three types of Spanish Police serving in the Canary Islands :

1 Policia Local

Are traffic cops or street patrols . They act when traffic problems, street, building damages, fire and in other cases concerning street security and personal help.

2 Policia Internacional

Is the most named regular police.

National call them “Policia Nacional” and is the regular police ( spanish police ).

You must talk to this service in case of need to make a complaint , register or in any way connected with a crime.

You can call 091 and/or 112 inmediate action telephones.

3 Guardia Civil

Is the third core group of spanish police.

they are specially trained and are a military force.

They deal with anything related to organized crime, drug, terrorism and public security.

Also covers all rural areas, and have a section for nature protection.

They are equiped with all type of boats, helicopters, 4x4 vehicles and counter-terrorism special equipments. You can call 062 as well as 112 in that cases.
